Don’t tell me you want to get to know me

When I give you all I am.

I’m not made of the times we share,

Not made of the things we do,

But of the life I live,

The ways I love,

And how I see the world.

Don’t investigate me like a criminal,

For I’ve done nothing wrong to you

Except give my love

Boundlessly

To a man

Who *thinks* he does not deserve me.
